About the role
Role Overview
Join Lime as a Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and operate embedded software for Lime’s connected vehicles. You’ll collaborate with hardware, data scientists, designers, and product managers to build firmware capabilities, improve operational tools, and integrate onboard sensors with cloud systems.
Key Missions / Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, and operation of embedded software capabilities for Lime vehicles and related products.
- Own embedded software functions end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, and integration in an embedded Linux or RTOS environment.
- Work closely with hardware teams on board design support, bring-up, verification, and integration/testing across product development phases.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of embedded development experience in C/C++.
- Experience diagnosing and debugging complex, multi-variable system issues.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/computer engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience developing with an RTOS framework (with Zephyr preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Linux, including device drivers and multicore systems.
- Strong experience with CI/CD and HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) automated testing.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience developing software for vehicles or other safety-critical systems, especially in micromobility.
- Experience working effectively in an evolving startup environment and solving problems quickly.
