Join Blend Labs, Inc. (NYSE: BLND) as the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Lead. In this strategic, hands-on role, you will own the Company's external reporting function, serve as the primary technical accounting resource, and partner closely with executive leadership and various departments. You will drive improvements to reporting automation, strengthen the control environment, and prepare the function for increasing complexity. This highly visible role reports to the Head of Accounting and works closely with the Corporate Controller. Key missions: Ownership and oversight of the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, and the related financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.. Researching, drafting, and reviewing technical accounting memos supporting complex transactions and significant management judgments, with full citation to authoritative literature.. Driving improvements to reporting automation, strengthening the control environment, and partnering with accounting and IT to implement the tools needed to scale. Profile: - 9+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience - Public-company experience in software, SaaS, FinTech, or other technology industries preferred - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required - High ethical standards and commitment to accountability, compliance and transparency - Strong technical accounting expertise, including ASC 718 stock-based compensation, ASC 842 leases - High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity - Extensive Workiva experience - Strong leadership presence and cultural awareness with the ability to build, develop, and motivate high-performing teams - Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Public accounting foundation, ideally manager-level experience - Proven experience leading teams and managing complex reporting environments - Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, customer focused with strong business acumen - Critical thinker with effective decision-making skills and sound professional judgment - Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across functions - Views SEC reporting as a strategic communication tool—not solely a compliance function—and effectively articulates the Company's business story to investors and stakeholders - Builds strong relationships with business leaders and leverages those partnerships to enhance the quality, clarity, and effectiveness of MD&A and disclosure reporting - Highly organized and effective under deadline pressure, with a consistent track record of meeting filing deadlines and audit deliverables without compromise - Extensive SEC reporting experience, preferably with direct ownership of filings
