Financial Controller & Accounting Manager

Role overview

Financial Controller & Accounting Manager at Bitstack (full remote, Paris, FR). You will lead French statutory accounting and help prepare the company for its first external audit and a Series B raise, with direct exposure to the CFO, leadership team, and co-founders.

Responsibilities

• Lead French statutory accounting and own monthly and annual closes, including transitioning from an annual to a monthly close cadence.
• Manage relationships with external accounting firms and, from 2027, the statutory auditor.
• Design and implement accounting policies, including:
  • Revenue recognition for subscription and card interchange revenue streams
  • Accruals and intercompany transactions
  • FX treatment and other technical accounting positions as they arise.

Requirements

• Experience owning statutory accounting and month-end/annual close processes.
• Ability to manage and coordinate with external accounting firms and statutory auditors.
• Strong accounting judgment for technical topics such as revenue recognition, accruals, intercompany accounting, and FX.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in preparing for external audits and supporting fundraising milestones.
• Experience with accounting for subscription and/or card interchange revenue models (and related revenue recognition work).
