Finance Manager

Role overview

Chart Industries is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support a business unit with financial services and operational support. The role will ensure compliance, maintain strong internal controls, deliver timely financial reporting, and manage divisional assets, working capital, and cash flow. Fully remote work is available.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations with financial management, reporting, and analysis
  • Provide analysis of current and future performance to enable better division management
  • Develop, communicate, and execute annual budgets and business plans with the Finance Director
  • Develop continuous improvement plans across critical business functions
  • Oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Manage billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, month-end closing, and audits
  • Develop and execute quarterly forecasts with the Finance Director
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting with appropriate documentation and analysis
  • Analyze and interpret technical accounting under GAAP
  • Partner with Project Management on project cost, margin, invoicing, and risk
  • Maintain proper project accounting (recorded costs, closing projects, and maintaining related balance sheet accounts)
  • Calculate, monitor, and maintain revenue recognition based on ASC 606 (percentage of completion)
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Establish and maintain KPIs, and analyze actuals vs. forecast/budget
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-division collaboration (with Shared Services such as IT, Engineering, HR, Legal, Quality)
  • Advise management on technical matters and developments affecting forecasts and financial results
  • Direct efforts to maximize cash flow, working capital, and return on invested capital (ROIC)

Requirements / experience

  • Experience providing financial services and operational support to business units
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant tax laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated capability managing internal controls and financial close/reporting cycles

Nice-to-haves (implied)

  • Experience with project-based accounting and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • Experience working closely with manufacturing operations and project management teams
