About the role

Role Overview

Finance Manager to provide financial services and operational support to a business unit. The role ensures compliance, maintains internal controls, and drives timely and accurate financial reporting, including management of divisional assets, working capital, and cash flow. Fully remote work is available.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing operations with financial management, reporting, and analysis.
  • Provide analysis of current and future performance to help management run the division.
  • Develop, communicate, and execute annual budgets and business plans with the Finance Director.
  • Drive continuous improvement in critical business functions.
  • Oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage core financial operations including billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, month-end close, and audits.
  • Develop and execute quarterly forecasts with the Finance Director.
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting with strong documentation and analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret technical accounting in compliance with GAAP.
  • Work with Project Management on project costs, margins, invoicing, and risk.
  • Ensure proper project accounting, including recorded costs, closing projects, and maintaining related balance sheet accounts.
  • Calculate and monitor revenue recognition using percentage of completion principles per ASC 606.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Establish and analyze KPIs, comparing actuals to forecast and budget.
  • Partner across divisions and Shared Services (IT, Engineering, HR, Legal, Quality).
  • Advise management on technical and regulatory developments impacting financial results.
  • Direct efforts to maximize cash flow, working capital, and ROIC.
  • Support safe work practices with a goal of zero lost time incidents.

Requirements / Ideal Candidate Signals

  • Experience as a Finance Manager supporting a business unit with operational finance and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgeting/forecasting, month-end close, audits, and internal controls.
  • Practical experience with project-based accounting and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

Nice-to-Haves (implicit from duties)

  • Experience working closely with project management to manage project economics (cost, margin, invoicing, risk).
  • Capability to define and track KPIs tied to forecast, budget, and cash flow performance.
