Finance Analytics & Enablement Lead (AI/ML)

Role Overview

Lead Finance analytics and AI/ML enablement at Hopper. Own the data warehouse, business intelligence, GCP/AI optimization, and the Finance AI enablement strategy—turning data into actionable insights and establishing Finance as the single source of truth.

Key Responsibilities

• Own data/finance strategy, governance, and execution for the data warehouse and financial ledger.
• Define and execute an AI automation roadmap for Finance in partnership with FP&A and analytics.
• Build data pipelines and AI/ML models.
• Optimize GCP infrastructure costs in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Manage a team of engineers plus finance/strategy managers.
• Provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Requirements

• 15+ years of work experience in travel and/or SaaS.
• Strong understanding of LLM-based systems, including prompt design and AI model evaluation frameworks.
• Hands-on ability with SQL, Python, GCP, and data science.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks and observability tools (Amplitude, Datadog, Looker) to assess reliability and performance.
• Strong communication skills with senior leadership and external partners.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience).
• First-principles thinking; comfort operating with ambiguity and building from scratch.
• Strong data reconciliation skills across large, multi-source datasets.
• Experience working cross-functionally with data engineering/warehouse teams.
• Bias toward high-growth technology/marketplace environments.
