About the role
Role Overview
FHIR Architect to lead healthcare data interoperability efforts, translating regulatory/business requirements into HL7 FHIR-based data models and APIs.
Work Mode & Location
- Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite per week in Pennsylvania (19073)
- Remote candidates may be considered, with an onsite preference
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data mapping to support CMS interoperability mandates (e.g., Patient Access, Provider Directory, Payer-to-Payer)
- Develop FHIR-based data models and APIs by translating regulatory and business requirements
- Work with FHIR servers, APIs, and data transformation tools
- Lead and mentor a team of business analysts
- Manage and communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in the healthcare domain
- Deep expertise in HL7 FHIR resources, profiles, and extensions
- Proven experience with FHIR Implementation Guides (e.g., US Core, Da Vinci IGs)
- Strong understanding of healthcare data standards and integration patterns, including:
- HL7 v2
- CDA
- X12
Nice to Have
- Preference for experience in payer/provider data ecosystems and interoperability frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data architectures
