About the role
Role Overview
The Experience Senior Researcher informs a customer-centric strategy at Arvest by uncovering deep insights into customer and user preferences, behaviors, and motivations. You will serve as a consultative partner to Design, Product, and Business teams, delivering actionable research that drives tactical and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex mixed-method research (qualitative + quantitative) across channels, including:
- Advanced usability testing
- Longitudinal studies
- In-depth interviews
- Large-scale surveys
- Field observations
- Perform advanced statistical analysis to produce high-value, strategic insights and statistically significant recommendations.
- Develop and maintain research codebooks to ensure data integrity.
- Lead research findings communication with high-impact presentations for stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders and the C-suite.
- Drive project intake and scoping with business/product/design partners to evaluate requests, recommend methodology, and prioritize work.
- Oversee quality and mentorship: supervise research methods/work produced by junior researchers and coach partners on best practices.
- Manage end-to-end research engagements, including:
- Scoping
- Vendor negotiation
- Budgeting and resource tracking
- Active management of third-party vendors and research partners
- Own the experience research program roadmap/backlog, including both programmatic and project-based planning.
- Build expertise in customer/product user personas and motivations and seek opportunities for continued learning.
- Conduct background research and synthesis of secondary data (e.g., market reports, internal analytics) to set strategic context.
- Reinforce research ways of working and guidelines across projects.
- Lead knowledge management by centralizing insights (e.g., intranet pages/index of projects and artifacts, reports).
- Provide cross-functional support and contribute to the holistic maturity of the EXP team.
- Comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and BSA/AML requirements, including completing compliance training and reporting violations/suspicious activity.
Requirements
- Ability to independently design and lead complex mixed-method research studies.
- Demonstrated capability to conduct advanced statistical analysis and derive actionable, statistically significant insights.
- Experience leading research communications/presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Strong ownership of end-to-end research engagement management, including scoping, vendors, budgets, and timelines.
- Ability to mentor junior researchers and coach design/product partners on research methodologies.
Nice-to-haves (implied)
- Familiarity with customer experience / experience research programs and maintaining research roadmaps/backlogs.
