About the role

Role Overview

Entry Level Engineer (bridging Engineer I to Engineer II) for early-career engineers who are curious, self-starting, and comfortable working both in the field and at a desk. The role builds competency in CVS (Closed Vent System) analysis, process modeling (Promax), and field data gathering for emissions compliance engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Technical execution: Perform or support emission compliance engineering, including dynamic and non-dynamic CVS analyses; conduct basic process modeling and equipment sizing using existing templates.
  • Design & documentation: Support creation and redlining of core deliverables such as P&IDs, PFDs, and Plot Plans.
  • Field engagement: Participate in and at times lead facility walkdowns and field data gathering for greenfield and brownfield projects; travel approximately 1 trip every 4–8 weeks (about 25% of time in the field).
  • Safety leadership: Maintain a safety-first culture with zero tolerance for violations, including 4-gas monitor calibration compliance.
  • Mentorship & training: Complete internal/external technical training; at the Level II stage, begin mentoring entry-level staff.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 0–5 years (early-career).
  • Practical exposure: Beginner-level knowledge of field operations and/or construction support.
  • Preferred exposure: Oil & gas, energy, or industrial internship/field exposure.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel domestically for field work.
  • Communication: Excellent communication with stakeholders.
  • Work style: Strong ownership of assigned scopes, strong organizational skills, and comfort learning new technical challenges.
  • Mindset: Strong interest in process modeling, emissions compliance, and field engineering.

Preferred Attributes

  • Industry experience in energy, environmental compliance, or oil & gas infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with brownfield and greenfield development (production/midstream/downstream).
  • Experience leading large-scale environmental campaigns and multi-site field operations.
  • Exposure to digital transformation or sustainability initiatives.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity in a dynamic team environment.

Nice-to-have / Benefits

  • EIT (Engineer in Training) status is a significant benefit and encouraged on the path toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Cultural Notes

  • Responsibility-level role (not task-level): lead in the field and at the desk.
  • Self-starters thrive; minimal micromanagement.
  • High standards for performance and accountability.
