About the role
Role Overview
Join DetaPent as an Entry-Level AI/ML Engineer on a fast-paced data science team. You’ll help design, build, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models to solve real-world business problems using both structured and unstructured data.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for business use cases
- Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets to build predictive and classification models
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data quality and efficient pipelines
- Implement and test algorithms using Python-based ML libraries
- Support model evaluation, validation, and performance tuning
- Document workflows, model performance, and technical processes
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions
- Stay current with advancements in AI/ML technologies and frameworks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
- Strong understanding of ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering)
- Proficiency in Python with Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn
- Basic knowledge of deep learning frameworks: TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistics
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience via internships, academic, or personal AI/ML projects
- Exposure to NLP, Computer Vision, or Generative AI
- Knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with Git
- Familiarity with data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn
