About the role
Role Overview
Enterprise - Composable Platforms Architect at Slalom, working with a global team of strategists, researchers, designers, and technologists to build modern, composable digital experiences using API-first platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Craft modular & performant components
- Design and build semantic, accessible, modular components with performance and scalability in mind.
- Support headless CMS integrations
- Develop digital experiences using headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Sanity, ContentStack, Storyblok, and Sitecore.
- Deploy with modern cloud platforms
- Use platforms like Vercel to deploy applications efficiently, emphasizing performance and speed.
- Optimize front-end workflows
- Automate front-end infrastructure, integrate with back-end APIs, and streamline design systems usage across multiple brands and channels.
- Collaborate across disciplines
- Work with PMs, digital strategists, designers, and researchers to deliver bespoke experiences using composable architectures.
What You’ll Bring
- Front-end expertise
- Strong semantic, responsive, accessible front-end development.
- Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks: Next.js, React, or Vue.js.
- Solid CSS knowledge and familiarity with Tailwind.
- Work across the stack
- Build API routes, wire up databases, configure auth flows, set up CI/CD, and debug production issues.
- Composable & headless architecture experience
- Deep experience with API-first/headless DXP patterns (CMS, DAM, Personalization, CDP) and integrations with SaaS APIs and API gateways.
- Unit testing
- Define and implement testing strategies for React/Next.js using Jest, Vitest, and React Testing Library.
- Design systems
- Experience consuming component libraries and design systems (e.g., Figma, Storybook) to ensure consistency across brands/channels.
- Performance optimization
- Knowledge of Core Web Vitals, image optimization, code splitting, and caching strategies.
- DevOps awareness
- Comfortable with Git and deployment automation on Vercel or Netlify.
- Simplifying complexity
- Ability to explain complex technical challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
