About the role

Role overview

ON.energy is hiring an Engineering Strategy & Operations Manager for its Data Center BESS division. This role acts as the operational backbone of the Engineering team—translating technical execution into measurable outcomes, repeatable processes, and executive-ready communication.

Key responsibilities

Engineering metrics & performance tracking

Define and maintain an engineering metrics framework (delivery, resource utilization, quality, throughput).
Own recurring collection, validation, and analysis of engineering performance data.
Build dashboards and reporting for real-time visibility into team output and health.
Detect trends and gaps and translate them into actionable recommendations.

Executive presentations & management reporting

Create executive-ready presentations on team performance, project status, strategic initiatives, and decisions.
Partner with the VP of Engineering to run quarterly business reviews and milestone reporting.
Build a consistent “engineering activity → business outcomes” storytelling framework (timelines, cost, risk, client impact).
Maintain reusable templates and reporting formats.

Processes & standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Design, document, and implement engineering workflows and SOPs to improve consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Lead process improvement efforts by identifying workflow friction and driving structured solutions.
Establish change management so new processes are adopted across Engineering and Document Control.
Maintain a living, version-controlled library of process documentation.

Training materials & team enablement

Develop onboarding and role-specific training content (guides, references, visual aids, instructional materials).
Translate complex technical procedures into training for varying experience levels.
Coordinate with technical leads to keep materials aligned to current tools and standards.
Support continuous learning aligned to team growth and project needs.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
5+ years experience (specific domain/discipline not fully stated).

Nice to have

Process improvement, strategy execution, and/or technical program/project management experience (implied by the ideal candidate description).
