Role: Engineering Project and QA Manager

Location: 100% Remote (United States, Europe, Canada, or LATAM) Employment Type: Full-time Reporting to: VP of Engineering

Overview

CodePath has a small engineering team that builds and maintains its learning platform. As the Engineering Project and QA Manager, you’ll work alongside engineers day to day to keep projects organized, ensure quality through testing, and coordinate across the product team and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Keep projects organized and moving
  • Track what’s in flight, flag blockers, and keep clarity on next steps.
• Own quality
  • Test what the team builds.
  • Use AI to automate repetitive QA work.
  • Write Capybara tests where they provide value.
• Run the bug pipeline
  • Reproduce issues, prioritize them, route to the right engineer, and confirm fixes.
• Act as the day-to-day connector
  • Maintain alignment between engineers, the product team, and internal teams using the tools.
• Add process thoughtfully
  • Introduce useful structure or rituals while avoiding unnecessary cost and friction.
• Report status
  • Keep both the team and leadership informed on progress and blockers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in project management, delivery, or QA (ideally on a small engineering team).
• Technical enough to collaborate closely with engineers
  • Reproduce bugs, read stack traces, and write test cases.
• Hands-on QA experience
  • Owned testing and a bug pipeline (manual or automated).
• Comfort using AI tools to automate previously manual work.
• Good judgment about process (add structure when helpful; avoid friction otherwise).
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
• Comfort with ambiguity and small-team dynamics.
• Passion for education and making a positive impact.

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or Django.
• Experience with Capybara, RSpec, or similar testing tools.
• Experience working with product managers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience being the team’s first project manager or QA hire.

Compensation

• US-based applicants: $140,000 to $178,000 per year.
• Canada, LATAM, Europe: salary is adjusted based on location.
• Salary is determined based on relevant experience and skills assessed during the interview process.
