About the role
Role Overview
Engineering Program Manager to lead manufacturing capital projects and technology implementation across a multi-year roadmap for a client based in the Atlanta (GA), Detroit (MI), or Toledo (OH) area. The role is remote with travel.
Responsibilities
- Assess capital needs and lead capital projects (e.g., equipment, ERP implementation, production tracking, process automation) across a multi-year roadmap
- Develop and maintain the site capital expenditure (CapEx) roadmap and standard process buildout
- Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Drive projects to completion with milestones, deliverables, and clear accountability
- Identify and evaluate automation opportunities across manufacturing processes
- Act as the primary liaison with corporate engineering and digital transformation teams
- Coordinate with plant operations teams on needs, impacts, and priorities
- Manage external vendors, consultants, and contractors
- Scope projects appropriately, including change management and stakeholder communications
- Balance project demands with production requirements
- Translate technical results into business value
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, project management, or operations leadership
- Proven success leading large capital projects ($1M+), from concept through commissioning
- Experience implementing technology in a manufacturing environment
- Strong project management experience from intake through implementation
- Excellent written and verbal communication with operations leaders and executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Heavy/industrial manufacturing experience
- Experience implementing ERP or manufacturing technology systems
- Manufacturing automation experience
- Multi-site experience
- PMP (or equivalent) certification
- Experience building PM processes
