Engineering Manager (Revenue)

Role Overview

Engineering Manager on the Revenue team at Relay. You’ll build and lead a team from the ground up and help shape and execute a greenfield product designed to meaningfully impact small businesses.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring quality, deadlines, and budget targets are met.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement the technical vision and strategy, aligned with business goals.
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.

Requirements

• Strong technical background with a track record of shipping high-quality products.
• Excellent communication skills; able to provide clarity during uncertainty and change.
• Values creative problem-solving and can find solutions without extensive resources.
• Highly collaborative, able to connect teams and manage cross-functional initiatives.
• 5+ years of relevant development experience in a startup environment, including 1+ year of people-management experience.
• Pragmatic decision-making with experience making tradeoffs (scope, technical debt, timelines).
• Customer-focused and energized by building and scaling engineering organizations.
• Experience at an early-stage company through scale.
• Fintech experience.

• Exposure to Relay’s stack: Node.js, TypeScript, React, AWS.
