Engineering Manager (Reporting)

Role Overview

Join Vanta as an Engineering Manager (Reporting) and lead the Reporting team. You’ll help shape how customers understand, visualize, and operationalize their compliance and security programs, while driving execution across strategic initiatives and partnering with Product, Design, Platform, and business stakeholders.

Key Missions

• Build and grow a high-performing team by leading, coaching, and strategically recruiting to scale effectively.
• Drive execution through strategic initiatives, delivering a multi-quarter roadmap across:
  • reporting infrastructure
  • enterprise reporting capabilities
  • AI-powered insights
• Shape technical and product strategy by collaborating with Product and cross-engineering teams to define the long-term vision and reporting architecture.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in a full-time engineering management role.
• Proven experience managing 8–12+ engineers.
• Strong decision-making skills to balance ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders as a clear communicator and storyteller.
• Experience participating in engineering-wide initiatives.
• Open to using AI to amplify skills and strengthen work, with curiosity and responsible judgment.
• Track record of delivering results across multiple workstreams while maintaining quality and team velocity.
• Strong technical depth (ideally former Senior/Staff Engineer) to guide data infrastructure and product architecture decisions.
• Experience managing teams building reporting or data visualization products.
• Experience setting product and technical strategy in partnership with Product and Design.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior experience delivering reporting/data visualization at a product engineering level.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
