About the role

Role Overview

Joveo AI is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a product engineering team. You’ll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management to enable sustained, high-quality software delivery in a distributed, async environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers via regular 1:1s, feedback, and coaching
Own team delivery including planning, execution, quality, and retrospectives
Partner with product managers to align engineering capacity with roadmap priorities
Drive technical excellence across code quality, system design, and engineering standards
Hire and build a high-performing, inclusive engineering culture
Represent the team’s work and needs in cross-functional leadership discussions

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience managing software engineering teams in a technology company
Strong technical background with the ability to meaningfully contribute to architecture and code reviews
Proven track record of growing engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development
Excellent written and verbal communication for distributed, async teams
Experience with agile delivery, sprint planning, and engineering metrics
Ability to balance technical debt, velocity, and quality trade-offs at the team level

Nice-to-Haves

Experience measuring and improving engineering performance using team-level metrics (implied by agile/metrics requirement)
