Role overview

Join Render as an Engineering Manager (Product) for Product Engineers. You’ll lead and grow a team of engineers, guide technical direction, and ensure the team delivers meaningful product improvements with high reliability and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of product engineers through mentorship, feedback, technical guidance, and performance management.
• Drive execution on product initiatives from ideation to launch, balancing speed with strong reliability/quality.
• Partner with Product and Design to translate customer needs into thoughtful technical solutions and engineering roadmaps.

Requirements

• Strong engineering background with deep involvement in system design, architecture, and tradeoffs.
• 2+ years managing people, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
• Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful execution.
• Product-oriented mindset: translate business goals and user needs into engineering roadmaps and shipped features.
• Strong ownership and accountability for both team outcomes and long-term system health.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across Engineering, Product, and Design.
• 8+ years as an Engineer shipping products/features with downstream business/product ecosystem impact.
• Experience improving engineering velocity via tooling, processes, and team practices.
• Experience building products for developer platforms / cloud infrastructure / DevTools.
• Background working on highly scalable distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
• Experience building products used directly by developers or technical users.
• Proven track record collaborating with Product, Marketing, and Customer Support to drive adoption and retention.

Nice to have

• A strong interest in developer-centric cloud platforms and DevTools, even if not every requirement is met.
