About the role

Role Overview

Engineering Manager for Product Development & Vertical Brands within DICK’S Sporting Goods Technology. You will lead a team of 6+ software engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining custom software applications and SaaS/package solutions that support growth of the company’s private brand product line.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of 6+ software engineers (custom and SaaS-based applications)
Translate business requirements with Product Management and Design into effective software solutions for Vertical Brands
Drive delivery from concept to deployment: manage priorities, coordinate resources, and ensure quality and deadlines
Establish best practices and processes to improve software development execution and technical excellence
Enable continuous improvement via coaching, feedback, and professional development
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing team culture

Requirements

People-focused engineering leadership experience (team talent management and roadmap/delivery ownership)
Experience overseeing software engineering delivery and technical execution across custom and SaaS solutions
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management and Design

Nice-to-haves

Experience in product lifecycle management (PLM) and/or retail vertical brand product development contexts
Experience modernizing or supporting a mix of custom services + legacy systems
