Role Overview

Engineering Manager for an AI startup building products that help people think more clearly, make better decisions, and unlock the potential of large language models (LLMs). This is a leadership-first role focused on coaching engineers, delivering ambitious product outcomes, and building a strong engineering culture.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers
Drive delivery of impactful product initiatives
Partner with Product, Design, and Research to execute on priorities
Mentor engineers through technical and career development
Contribute to architecture, system design, and technical planning
Improve engineering processes and overall team effectiveness
Help hire and onboard engineering talent
Champion thoughtful AI-assisted software development

Requirements

Experience leading and developing high-performing software engineering teams
Startup experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong technical judgment and solid software engineering fundamentals
Experience delivering complex, user-facing products
Proven track record of coaching and developing engineers
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Passion for AI, LLMs, and building impactful products

Nice-to-Haves

Compensation & Benefits

$250,000–$300,000 base + equity
