About the role
Role Overview
Engineering Manager (Technical Leadership) – Power System Studies & Interconnection Fully remote (U.S. or Canada). Hands-on technical leader responsible for scaling a team of power systems engineers working on transmission planning, interconnection, and advanced grid studies. This is not a general management role—expect to remain actively involved in power system studies while leading the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale a team of power system engineers focused on:
- Transmission planning
- Interconnection (generation and/or load)
- Advanced grid/system studies
- Tackle complex, system-level problems across:
- Utilities
- ISOs/RTOs
- Renewable developers
- Large load customers (including data centers)
- Perform and/or review technical study work, including:
- System Impact Studies (SIS)
- Facility Studies
- Apply and guide execution aligned with ISO/RTO processes
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems focus
- 10+ years of experience in power system studies, including:
- Transmission planning and/or Interconnection
- Direct experience performing and/or reviewing SIS and/or Facility Studies
- Strong knowledge of ISO/RTO processes
Required Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with at least one:
- PSS®E / PSSE
- PSCAD / EMTDC
- TARA
- PowerWorld
- PSLF
Compensation
- $200,000 – $240,000+ base + bonus
