Role Overview

Engineering Manager (Growth) at Headway (full remote). You will lead and grow an engineering team focused on growth initiatives—building tools and systems that help providers discover and join Headway.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the engineering team for growth initiatives, providing mentorship and technical support.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to build systems that enable rapid experimentation and long-term scale.
• Contribute to the company strategy and product roadmap, ensuring alignment on process, prioritization, and product outcomes.

Requirements

• Experienced engineering team leader / people manager with a product-minded, data-informed approach to growth.
• Strong technical foundation to guide appropriate technical decisions.
• Energized by experimentation and growth; able to balance short-term learning with long-term scaling.
• Strong product mindset and ability to build cross-functional relationships that improve user experience and trust.
• Flexible and adaptable, comfortable with dynamic growth roadmaps.
• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager at a high-growth startup/scale-up, delivering business outcomes through technical investments.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SEO and paid advertising.
• Health tech and user-facing product experience.
• Prior experience with Python and React, and working with AWS infrastructure.
• Experience applying AI/ML to growth contexts (e.g., personalization, intelligent routing, LLM-powered content, or experimentation at scale).
