About the role

Role: Engineering Manager, Frontend Experience

Lead the evolution of Boulevard’s customer experiences into a modular, mobile-optimized, React-based architecture, combining people leadership with deep frontend technical execution.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a team of 3–5 frontend engineers (1:1s, performance reviews, career development, hiring, onboarding, mentorship).
Build a high-performing, inclusive team culture focused on craftsmanship, autonomy, and accountability.
Guide modernization and delivery while balancing technical depth with outcomes and execution.
Own the modular frontend strategy, using:
- Module Federation and Micro Frontends to accelerate delivery and isolate complexity.
Drive key platform transitions:
- Transition Dashboard from Angular to React.
- Steward a hybrid mobile approach using CapacitorJS and shared webviews for cross-platform parity.
Define and uphold engineering standards for:
- Code quality, performance, and developer experience (DX).
Modernize the frontend toolchain (e.g., React 19, TypeScript 5, Webpack, MUI 7), aiming for secure, scalable, AI-ready codebases.
Partner with Architecture and Design System teams to evolve a mobile-optimized component library.
Lead complex debugging and incident resolution across multi-frontend environments; drive systemic improvements to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and mobile peers to define roadmaps and unify cross-platform architecture.
Communicate the frontend platform strategy to executives, translating tradeoffs into clear, outcome-focused narratives.

Requirements

5+ years software engineering experience, with 2+ years in engineering management or tech-lead management (hybrid roles).
Deep expertise in React and TypeScript and modern build systems such as Webpack/Vite.

Nice-to-haves (implied by description)

Experience with module federation/micro frontends and design system evolution.
Familiarity with hybrid mobile enablement (CapacitorJS/shared webviews) and cross-platform parity work.
Experience migrating legacy apps (e.g., Angular → React).
