Engineering Manager (Finance Engineering)

Role Overview

Engineering Manager for Finance Engineering at SeatGeek (Full remote). You will lead a team of software and data engineers to rethink and rebuild the systems powering fan purchase understanding, marketplace settlements, and unit economics—ensuring SeatGeek’s financial automation stack operates reliably and feeds accurate data to the business.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Lead and shape team vision for rebuilding systems around fan purchases, marketplace settlements, and unit economics.
• Manage software and data engineers, ensuring the financial automation stack reads from the correct upstream tools/systems across the business.
• Define and deliver go-forward architecture for the financial automation stack in an environment increasingly influenced by agentic interactions.
• Ensure operational excellence of the financial automation stack and the integrity of the resulting financial reporting outputs.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience as an Engineering Manager leading productive engineering teams.
• Hands-on transactional data experience and knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• SOX-controlled environment experience handling and processing transactional data at scale.
• Background as an Engineer (preferably 5+ years in a role primarily focused on writing code).
• Ability to break down complex technical concepts and communicate clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading by setting context, facilitating collaboration, and securing buy-in across product, design, engineering, and leadership.
• Comfort operating without a playbook (define architecture, ways of working, and roadmap concurrently).
