Engineering Manager (FDE Infrastructure NORAM)

Role overview

Join Cohere as an Engineering Manager to lead the Deployment Engineering team. You will be a hands-on leader responsible for the end-to-end deployment of Cohere’s North platform into customer environments, with ownership of technical implementation through delivery.

Key missions

• Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Drive end-to-end deployments of the North platform in private cloud and on-premises environments.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape how AI is delivered to enterprises.
• Build and scale processes/technology to optimize performance for:
  • OpenSearch
  • Databases
  • Other Kubernetes-based services.
• Own progress toward customer success from implementation through delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years in software engineering with demonstrated leadership.
• Hands-on experience deploying enterprise software at scale.
• Strong cloud infrastructure expertise: Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• “Doer” mindset and high agency (solve problems independently).
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in additional European languages.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure.
• Background in enterprise security and compliance.
