About the role
Role Overview
Engineering Manager (f/m/x) to lead Customer Success and Delivery & Returns. You’ll build high-performing engineering teams, ensure technical excellence, and partner with product and business to deliver reliable, customer-impacting solutions end to end.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support engineers across Customer Success and Delivery & Returns teams
- Run regular 1:1s, mentor engineers, and support personal/professional growth
- Foster psychological safety, enable ownership, and promote transparency/feedback
- Facilitate technical discussions, architecture reviews, and design decisions
- Guide teams toward reliable, scalable, maintainable solutions while balancing quality and delivery
- Promote modern engineering practices and effective ways of working for predictable delivery
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience managing senior backend and frontend engineers
- Strong engineering leadership: ability to develop, mentor, retain talent, and manage performance with clarity and empathy
- Solid backend systems knowledge, including distributed architectures and scalable service design
- Confident collaborating with staff/senior engineers and architects on architecture and trade-offs
- Comfortable with SQL and relational database concepts
- Thrives in remote, distributed, cross-functional environments; strong stakeholder collaboration with product/design/business
- Excellent English; must be based in a European time zone
- Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have / Additional Context
- Not expected to be hands-on day-to-day, but confident reviewing high-level designs and ensuring robust delivery
