Engineering Manager

Role Overview

Engineering Manager (player/coach) at Counterpart Health. You’ll lead and develop a strong engineering team while driving high-impact execution, reliability, and technical productivity.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop high-performing engineering teams in a player/coach model.
• Foster a healthy, results-driven, collaborative team culture.
• Set and communicate clear team objectives aligned with company goals and roadmap.
• Represent the team in engineering-wide planning and internal initiatives/processes.
• Partner with Product Managers and Designers to shape the technical roadmap and solve problems improving the patient and doctor experience.
• Drive engineering execution: ensure impact, delivery of complex systems, and technical reliability.
• Lead hiring, development, and retention to grow talent and maintain team effectiveness.

Requirements

• Technical leadership experience managing teams of 3+ engineers.
• Strong system design background.
• Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Java.
• Track record leading development projects and enabling others to grow into leadership.
• Experience delivering complex web applications and services.
• Ability to make quick, strategic decisions in fast-paced environments with competing constraints.
• Adaptable working style across multiple technical systems and concerns.
