Engineering Manager (Core Platform)

Role Overview

Join Vanta as an Engineering Manager for the Core Platform. You will lead and grow platform engineering teams, set technical direction, and drive multi-quarter initiatives to improve infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow platform engineering teams delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure and operational excellence.
• Set technical direction and run multi-quarter platform initiatives across shared systems and services.
• Partner with product engineering, security, and engineering leadership to:
  • identify organizational needs,
  • translate ambiguous infrastructure challenges into clear roadmap priorities,
  • deliver scalable platform solutions.
• Design and evolve internal platforms and guide the evolution of Vanta’s cloud and data infrastructure.
• Establish and evolve engineering culture within platform teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years managing platform or infrastructure teams at high-growth tech companies.
• Track record of maintaining and scaling shared infrastructure with measurable outcomes.
• Experience managing complex, long-term projects across multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple teams or charters.
• Strong decision-making skills balancing ambiguity, data, speed, and quality.
• Excellent communication and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive technical direction without relying on direct authority.
