About the role

Role Overview

Join CoLab as an Engineering Manager to lead development of its AI-powered Operator platform. You’ll drive technical execution, contribute hands-on via architecture guidance and code reviews, and help your team ship in an environment with high ambiguity and rapidly evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of engineers building the AI-powered Operator platform
Drive technical execution across AI technologies
Contribute technically through:
- Architecture guidance
- Code reviews
- Debugging and hands-on problem solving
- Coaching and engineering development for team members
Establish lightweight but effective planning and delivery practices to create clarity and momentum
Collaborate closely with Product and Design in ambiguous problem spaces

Requirements

Highly technical; enjoys diving into details with the team
Experience building applied-AI product features (not only API integration)
Comfort leading without hiding behind process
Ability to balance speed with engineering judgment
Experience with highly iterative product environments with significant ambiguity
Strong product and engineering judgment
Strong technical background to participate meaningfully in system design and engineering discussions
Excellent communication and low-ego collaboration
Experience leading engineering teams in B2B SaaS

Nice-to-Haves

Familiarity with modern LLM tooling, including:
- Retrieval systems
- Vector search
- Agentic workflows
