Engineering Manager

Role Overview

Join Chainlink as an Engineering Manager to lead the Infrastructure Platform team. You will build and operate foundational cloud infrastructure that accelerates engineering velocity across the organization, while ensuring reliability and security/compliance.

Key Missions

• Define and execute the strategy for internal infrastructure platforms to enable rapid iteration without sacrificing reliability or control.
• Deliver a scalable internal infrastructure platform for public cloud so engineering teams can efficiently provision and operate systems.
• Establish and evolve Kubernetes-based platform capabilities to support highly available, large-scale production workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage high-performing teams of software/infrastructure engineers, including hiring, developing, and retaining talent.
• Operate effectively in a startup environment, navigating ambiguity while delivering foundational systems with lean teams.
• Own and run Kubernetes at scale, building or leading an internal platform from the ground up.
• Ensure internal platform compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years leading and managing engineering teams (software and/or infrastructure), including people leadership.
• Demonstrated ownership of Kubernetes at scale; experience building or leading a Kubernetes-based internal platform.
• Experience building and operating internal infrastructure platforms on public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including provisioning, scaling, and reliability engineering.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 compliance, especially for infrastructure provisioning and access control.
• Familiarity with CI/CD ecosystem and supporting infrastructure layers (e.g., runners, secrets management, cloud networking).
• Understanding of security best practices in software delivery (e.g., secure artifact management and compliance considerations).
• Experience supporting globally distributed, remote-first engineering teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to blockchain/Web3, decentralized applications, or Web3 infrastructure.
• Infrastructure automation experience using Go-based tooling and/or GitHub Actions.
