About the role
Role overview
You will lead Bugcrowd’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll oversee the design, development, and operation of secure, scalable authentication, authorization, and identity services—while mentoring engineers and setting team processes.
Key missions / responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers; foster technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Own architecture and operations for authentication/authorization/identity services (secure, scalable, highly available)
- Define and refine team processes, development methodologies, and quality standards
- Serve as the technical expert for the IAM domain
- Develop and drive a long-term technical roadmap
- Collaborate with multiple teams to integrate identity solutions across the product ecosystem
Requirements
- Strong technical background in modern identity standards
- Proven experience managing and mentoring high-performing engineering teams
- Deep expertise in IAM and core identity concepts
- Security best practices knowledge, including cryptography and common identity-related web vulnerabilities (e.g., session hijacking, token manipulation)
- Hands-on experience implementing/managing systems using SAML and OAuth 2.0 / OIDC
- 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on high-scale backend systems
- 2+ years experience managing/leading software engineers
- Experience with a modern programming language (e.g., Go, Java, Ruby, Node.js) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with identity providers and services such as Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, Keycloak, Auth0
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to drive large, complex, ambiguous projects to completion

- Experience with cloud identity platforms such as AWS IAM, Azure AD, Okta, Auth0
