Join Whatnot as an Engineering Manager for Backend Platforms. You’ll lead and grow a team of senior software engineers, set the team’s strategy and execution, and drive improvements in platform reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of senior software engineers (and, over time, additional engineering managers)
- Own team strategy and execution
- Empower senior individual contributors to define technical direction and architecture
- Stay technically engaged to challenge decisions, unblock tradeoffs, and step in when course-correction is needed
- Shape the Backend Platforms roadmap, balancing investment across:
- new capabilities
- developer productivity
- platform-level technical debt
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience in platform or infrastructure engineering
- 7+ years experience managing engineering teams
