About the role
Role Overview
Engineering Manager for the Authentication Services team at 1Password. You will lead engineering efforts that power sign-in and identity verification, enabling secure and reliable authentication experiences across the company.
Responsibilities
- Set and support the team’s strategic direction; drive alignment with broader company objectives
- Own results for the team and collaborate with senior ICs on a technical vision
- Partner cross-functionally with Product and Design to define solutions for internal and external customers
- Scope, plan, and drive delivery of projects and initiatives; manage roadmaps and execution
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to developers within the team and across Engineering
- Recruit, retain, and develop strong contributors in a dynamic environment
- Operate authentication services safely in production through the full feature lifecycle
Requirements
- Several years of experience managing engineers and owning/operating a service
- Deep experience with cloud-native infrastructure and backend technologies
- Ability to help teams resolve complex technical issues (even if not writing code)
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a positive, healthy, high-performing remote team
- Experience scaling both the team and the services they own
