Engineering Manager

Role Overview

As an Engineering Manager at Anchorage Digital, you will lead and scale an engineering team, shape engineering strategy, and help influence product direction. You’ll own delivery, quality, and operational excellence for critical production systems while mentoring engineers and building a team that operates in a regulated environment.

Key Missions

• Lead and scale an engineering team building the platform that powers institutional digital asset adoption.
• Own delivery, quality, and operational excellence for critical systems.
• Develop engineering strategy and translate ambiguous business needs into clear engineering plans and priorities.
• Influence product direction and collaborate across functions.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent, coaching engineers at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering delivery, production quality, and operational excellence.
• Conduct budgeting, staffing, and resource planning.
• Lead operational practices including on-call rotations and incident management.
• Build and run a team operating across crypto technology and regulated financial services.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience managing engineering teams.
• Demonstrated talent development: coaching, mentoring, and growing engineers.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering.
• Operational ownership for production systems in a regulated/financial services environment.
• Track record building high-performing teams through multiple product cycles.
• Strong communication skills to influence senior leadership and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable plans and priorities.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with ledger systems, virtual accounting layers, custody infrastructure, or similar financial technology platforms.
• Background in fintech, banking-as-a-service, or other regulated environments.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as SOC 2 and bank examinations.
• Experience managing other managers or leading multiple groups of teams.
• Background in the cryptocurrency / digital assets industry.
