Engineering Manager

Role Overview

Anchorage Digital is hiring an Engineering Manager (full remote). You’ll drive the growth of the engineering organization by mentoring teams, refining the engineering roadmap, and partnering with Product Managers on product investments.

Key Missions

• Drive healthy engineering org growth through mentoring, collaboration, and operational excellence.
• Own execution quality for a single team: timeliness of delivery, processes, impact, and team personal/professional growth.
• Partner with Product Managers to align product plans, team bandwidth, and the technical landscape.
• Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to improve team growth, retention, and hiring.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers.
• Take ownership of engineering delivery quality and measurable impact.
• Improve team processes and execution discipline.
• Contribute to engineering roadmap refinement and product investment planning.

Requirements

• Experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed team.
• Background/experience in the finance industry.
• Familiarity with optimistic & zero-knowledge technologies.
• Professional experience with Go/Rust/TypeScript/Solidity (languages can be learned, but strong engineering/management skills are prioritized).
• Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
• Experience with applied cryptography.
• Strong focus on end-user experience and business value.
• Strong code quality mindset, including test infrastructure.
• Solid CS fundamentals (e.g., concurrency, algorithms, data structures). Formal CS degree not required.

• Enjoys reading blockchain protocol white papers and staying current on cryptoasset innovations.
• Enjoys building services from scratch and maintaining them over meaningful periods.
