Engineering Manager (Ads)

Role Overview

Engineering Manager (Ads) in Mozilla’s Ads Engineering organization, leading a team of software engineers working on Firefox Suggest Ads. You’ll combine people leadership with execution and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers delivering Firefox Suggest Ads outcomes.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery aligned to Ads Engineering goals.
• Mentor, support, and develop engineers to grow impact and craft.
• Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to navigate ambiguity, especially where user data, privacy expectations, and policy considerations influence decisions.
• Drive planning, issue triage, and delivery workflow practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years people management experience.
• Experience leading teams that deliver production software.
• Familiarity with modern development practices: planning, issue triage, and delivery workflows.
• Strong judgment on prioritization and balancing short-term execution with long-term sustainability.
• Comfortable working in a distributed, asynchronous environment.
• Ability to work effectively with product and partner teams.
• Responsible, values-driven participation; relationship-minded leadership.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with search, ads, recommendations, marketplaces, or other privacy-sensitive product domains.
• Experience integrating browser/client-platform systems, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex privacy/trust domains.
