Engineering Manager (Activation)

Role Overview

Engineering Manager for Relay’s Activation team. You’ll lead planning and delivery of engineering initiatives, establish scalable engineering processes, and shape the technical vision while managing and growing a high-performing team.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engineering initiatives, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and alignment with business goals.
• Establish and refine engineering processes, including:
  • sprint planning
  • code reviews
  • technical design reviews
  • continuous improvement of team rituals for predictable, high-quality delivery
• Build and lead the team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to connect the dots and drive initiatives with measurable impact.
• Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture and scale engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience, ideally in a high-growth B2B SaaS or fintech environment.
• 1–3 years in a people management role.
• Strong technical foundation with a track record of shipping high-quality products.
• Familiarity with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS (plus if you have experience with these specifically).
• Clear communication, calm leadership in ambiguity, and strong decision-making around tradeoffs (scope, technical debt, timelines).
