About the role
Role Overview
Join Malt as Engineering Director (Staffing) in a hands-on leadership role. You will oversee delivery, performance, and people management for the Matching and Sourcing squads, and help shape and execute the company’s technical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Architect the future of AI-native sourcing and lead development of an AI-native solution to address traditional staffing problems.
- Translate C-level ambition into a high-velocity technical roadmap with:
- timely delivery of high-quality AI features
- sustained long-term architectural health
- Direct two high-impact squads, fostering autonomy and coaching developers into Product Engineers who understand the “why” behind the code.
- Drive collaboration and delivery outcomes across the squads.
Requirements / Profile
- Hands-on engineering leadership experience overseeing squad delivery and performance.
- Strong product/engineering mindset, capable of turning strategy into a technical roadmap.
- Expertise and experience relevant to building AI-enabled platforms and maintaining architecture over time.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with marketplace matching/sourcing domains.
- Experience leading engineering teams toward product-oriented engineering practices.
