About the role

Role Overview

Engineering Director, Foundation Services at Netskope, leading the Foundation Engineering team that manages near real-time configuration propagation across 100+ global data centers. You will combine deep technical judgment with an AI-first leadership approach to scale foundational cloud infrastructure and engineering excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead People & Drive Execution
- Manage and mentor engineering managers and tech leads
- Grow the organization through strategic hiring and hands-on coaching
Own the Delivery
- Deliver scalable, resilient foundational services across the global data center footprint
Collaborate Across Functions
- Work closely with Product, Program Management, and other engineering service owners to align priorities and clear technical roadblocks
Technical Vision & Innovation
- Lead architecture for distributed systems, runtime synchronization, and high-volume/high-availability cloud infrastructure
Embrace AI-First Leadership
- Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to increase velocity and reduce operational toil

What You Bring To The Table

Deep Experience
- 15+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years managing managers and multi-team organizations
Technical Expertise
- Strong background in distributed systems, infrastructure services, data synchronization, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes
Leadership Track Record
- Ability to navigate cross-team negotiations, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain high engineering standards
AI Savvy
- Hands-on experience using AI to improve team performance and delivery leverage
Distributed Team Leadership
- Experience leading remote teams across multiple countries and time zones

Nice to Have

Background in cybersecurity/network security
Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments at scale
Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and on-call operations
Proven ability to reduce operational toil via automation and AI-driven tooling

Education

BS in Computer Science (or equivalent technical degree) required
MS in Computer Science (or equivalent technical degree) preferred
