Engineer, Security Operations & Engineering

Role Overview

Join Collibra’s Security Operations & Engineering team to design, build, and operate systems that safeguard data, infrastructure, and customers. The team embeds security across Collibra’s platforms using automation, zero-trust principles, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure architectures across cloud environments, including zero-trust and identity-based access controls
• Manage threat detection, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to proactively identify and remediate risks
• Lead incident response and use threat intelligence to detect, contain, and prevent evolving cyber threats
• Ensure compliance with global security standards including ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CIS, OWASP, SOC 2, and CSA
• Support internal and external security audits by providing required documentation and evidence

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Information Security, Security Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows and IaC
• Hands-on experience securing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and incident response tools
• Strong knowledge of network/application security, IAM, and encryption
• Working knowledge of data analysis/data science concepts and tooling (SQL, Python, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Security or equivalent experience
• US citizenship required (role supports the US government); no visa sponsorship
• Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot) to streamline workflows or deliver measurable outcomes

Success Metrics (first 6 months)

• Month 1: Understand Collibra infrastructure, security architecture, and monitoring environment
• Month 3: Contribute to threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management workflows
• Month 6: Design and implement security automation or architectural improvements that measurably strengthen security posture
