About the role
Role Overview
Join Collibra’s Security Operations & Engineering team. As a Security Engineer, you will design, build, and operate systems that protect Collibra’s data, infrastructure, and customers—embedding zero-trust and automating detection and response to stay ahead of evolving threats.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure architectures across cloud environments, embedding zero-trust and identity-based access controls.
- Manage threat detection, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to proactively identify and remediate risks.
- Lead incident response and use threat intelligence to detect, contain, and prevent cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and frameworks, including:
- ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CIS, OWASP, SOC 2, CSA.
- Support internal and external security audits by providing documentation and evidence.
Requirements
- 5+ years in Information Security, Security Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience securing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and incident response tools.
- Strong understanding of network and application security, IAM, and encryption.
- Working knowledge of data analysis/data science concepts and tooling (SQL, Python, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
- US citizenship and must reside on US soil (US government support); no visa sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot) to streamline workflows or drive measurable outcomes.
Success Milestones
- First month: Understand Collibra’s infrastructure, security architecture, and monitoring environment.
- Third month: Contribute to threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management workflows.
- Sixth month: Design and implement security automation or architectural improvements that measurably strengthen the security posture.
Compensation
- Base salary: $116,000–$145,000 per year.
- No commission-based compensation eligibility; includes a total rewards package (benefits, bonus potential, equity for eligible roles, Flex Fund stipend, and retirement plans).
