Engineer, Security Operations & Engineering

Role Overview

Join Collibra’s Security Operations & Engineering team to design, build, and operate security systems that protect data, infrastructure, and customers. You’ll embed security across Collibra’s platforms using automation, threat intelligence, and zero-trust approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure architectures across cloud environments, embedding zero-trust and identity-based access controls.
• Manage threat detection, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to proactively identify and remediate risks.
• Lead incident response, using threat intelligence to detect, contain, and prevent evolving cyber threats.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CIS, OWASP, SOC 2, CSA.
• Support internal and external security audits by producing documentation and evidence.
• Build automation and continuous improvements to strengthen Collibra’s security posture and reduce manual effort.

Requirements

• 5+ years in Information Security, Security Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows and IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
• Experience securing AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and incident response tooling.
• Strong knowledge of network/application security, IAM, and encryption.
• Working knowledge of data tools/concepts such as SQL and Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
• US citizen required (role supports the US government); must reside on US soil.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.

• Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot) to improve workflows or outcomes.
• Ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Analytical, curious, collaborative, and proactive ownership mindset.

Success Milestones

• First month: Understand Collibra infrastructure, security architecture, and monitoring.
• Third month: Contribute to threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management workflows.
• Sixth month: Design and implement security automation/architectural improvements that measurably strengthen the security posture.

Compensation

• Base salary range: $116,000 – $145,000 per year.
• Not eligible for additional commission-based compensation.
• Includes total rewards (bonus potential, equity for eligible roles, Flex Fund stipend, and retirement benefits).
