E-commerce Web Developer (Next.js / Node.js experience is required)

Role Overview

You will maintain, improve, and scale e-commerce websites across multiple brands. The position covers both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on headless commerce, checkout flows, and performance/SEO.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage front-end experiences using Next.js and React
• Create responsive, mobile-first UI with strong UX standards
• Develop back-end systems using Node.js, including APIs, integrations, and server-side workflows
• Manage e-commerce functionality using Medusa (or similar headless commerce platforms)
• Customize checkout flows, cart functionality, product pages, and order processes
• Maintain product catalog systems, including inventory integrations and pricing logic
• Support CMS environments such as Sanity or Strapi for dynamic content management
• Build landing and promotional pages with scalable content structures across brands
• Improve speed and quality: Core Web Vitals and overall technical performance
• Troubleshoot production bugs, errors, and outages quickly
• Implement technical SEO (structured data, indexing, site architecture)
• Support analytics: conversion tracking, performance reporting
• Collaborate with marketing and leadership on launches and growth campaigns
• Recommend and implement improvements to increase conversions, revenue, and customer experience
• Design for scalability to handle traffic growth and future integrations

Requirements (Hard)

• 3+ years experience as a Full Stack Developer, E-commerce Developer, or similar
• Strong proficiency in Next.js and React
• Strong proficiency in Node.js (APIs and backend development)
• Proven experience with headless ecommerce platforms such as Medusa
• Experience with CMS platforms such as Sanity or Strapi
• Strong responsive, mobile-first and UI/UX knowledge
• Experience optimizing performance and Core Web Vitals
• Understanding of e-commerce workflows (checkout, orders, inventory, product management)
• Experience with third-party integrations, APIs, and automation tools
• Strong debugging/troubleshooting in live production environments
• Knowledge of technical SEO and analytics tracking
• Ability to manage multiple projects/brands simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and independent ownership
• Portfolio of e-commerce/web development projects required

Schedule & Hours

• 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday 9AM–6PM Eastern Standard Time

Compensation

• Weeks 1–12: $1100 CAD/month
• Weeks 13 onwards: $1500 CAD/month
