Role overview

Join Autodesk as a Distinguished Experience Designer (Transportation). You’ll lead experience design for infrastructure and transportation workflows, acting as an expert across Autodesk platforms and products. The role emphasizes long-term experience strategy, strong collaboration with engineering, and influence over product and platform roadmaps.

Key missions / responsibilities

Lead experience design for infrastructure and transportation workflows.
Create experience frameworks, models, and reference designs to help teams deliver coherent infrastructure workflows.
Drive the responsible integration of AI into infrastructure workflows (e.g., AI-assisted, data-driven experiences).
Influence product and platform roadmaps by clearly articulating user intent, constraints, and tradeoffs.
Mentor senior designers and help shape experience practice at scale.
Partner with engineering and platform teams on architecture, performance, and scalability.

Requirements

Proven ability to influence strategy, prioritization, and decisions without formal authority.
Strong understanding of front-end architecture, data models, and API-driven systems.
Demonstrated impact on large-scale, cross-product/platform initiatives.
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-stakes problem spaces.
7+ years of experience in UX / experience design for complex, technical systems.
Deep expertise in infrastructure, civil engineering, or similarly complex domains.
Experience designing transportation or civil engineering software and workflows.
Familiarity with Autodesk platforms/tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ReCap, Forma, Revit (or similar).
Experience with interoperability-heavy, data-driven, or AI-assisted systems.
Track record of mentoring and shaping experience practice.

Nice-to-haves

Broad experience collaborating across engineering for architecture, performance, and scalability (explicitly valued).

Location / work model

Full remote (Toronto, CA mentioned).
