About the role

Role Overview

Join Workiva as a Distinguished Product Designer to lead the experience strategy for the Workiva Platform. You’ll set the long-term vision for the platform, focusing on AI experiences, systems thinking, and workflow transformation.

This role sits at the intersection of UX, product strategy, and platform architecture, influencing how products are built, scaled, and evolve over time. You will also mentor senior design talent and help guide the evolution of design systems.

Key Missions

Lead long-term UX vision for the Workiva Platform and align design direction with product strategy and business goals.
Envision AI-powered experiences, including:
- generative interfaces
- intelligent automation
- decision-support workflows
Create reusable patterns, interaction models, and information architecture that scale across a multi-product ecosystem, influencing technical direction.

Responsibilities (Implied)

Influence product strategy and technical decision-making through user experience direction.
Drive innovation in UI design via experimentation, new tools/processes, and close cross-functional collaboration.
Partner with design, engineering, data science, and research teams.

Requirements

Experience establishing UX best practices for emerging technologies or ambiguous problem spaces.
Proven ability to influence product strategy, experience direction, and technical decisions.
12+ years product design/UX (platform/enterprise focus) OR 10 years + Master’s OR 8 years + PhD; Bachelor’s (or equivalent) in a design/HCI-related field.
Track record of driving UI innovation through experimentation and cross-functional collaboration.
AI/ML knowledge, including agentic technologies; ability to ideate and develop creative solutions.
Strong user-centered design expertise applied to enterprise workflows.
Experience designing AI-powered product experiences and human-in-the-loop workflows.
Experience leveraging AI in the design process for discovery, prototyping, and synthesis.
Experience working in large-scale Agile environments.
Strong technical fluency across platform ecosystems, APIs, and design systems.

Nice-to-haves

Degree in design/HCI or closely related field (explicitly required, but indicates a relevant background).
