Director, Software Engineering

Role Overview

As Director, Software Engineering at ImageTrend, you will lead a technical engineering team and help define and manage processes and metrics to ensure software roadmap deliverables and timelines are met. You’ll drive roadmap execution for an assigned product area while fostering team development, cohesion, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the software development lifecycle and manage assigned engineering teams and products, ensuring best practices from planning/design through deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to define and analyze KPIs, metrics, and deliverables to measure success
• Work with Product Managers to allocate resources, manage expectations, and escalate issues to keep projects on schedule
• Lead hiring, evaluation, and performance improvement; identify strengths and development areas and build plans to improve outcomes
• Provide coaching and mentoring to leaders and team members to build accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and career growth
• Develop and improve engineering processes to maximize efficiency and achieve departmental outcomes
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and best practices; recommend improvements
• Coordinate cross-functionally to resolve issues and reduce client requests through ongoing innovation and product improvements
• Provide escalation support for technical problems when needed
• Assist the CTO/VP of Engineering with workforce needs, resource planning, and recurring/ad hoc reporting and insights
• Travel to headquarters, client sites, and events as required

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience (advanced degree or certifications preferred)
• Extensive experience managing and coaching direct reports, preferably in Agile/Scrum and a matrix environment
