Director, Sales

Role Overview

As Director, Sales for Upsun Dispatch, you will drive new customer growth and help build the founding go-to-market team for a new standalone platform. Dispatch supports a structured workflow where AI agents and human developers collaborate across the AI-driven software development lifecycle (SDLC), providing trust, control, and guardrails.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full go-to-market motion for Dispatch and report to the CRO.
• Lead year-one sales execution hands-on, personally driving the sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through closing and account expansion.
• Build and scale the team: lead and coach a team of 4 as the product validates in the market.
• Manage the end-to-end sales cycle:
  • Prospect and qualify leads
  • Assess buying intent
  • Track customer and transactional data in Salesforce
  • Create repeatable sales processes for the team
• Market validation / pioneer selling:
  • Identify early adopters
  • Gather customer feedback to validate product-market fit
  • Iterate go-to-market strategy and product direction with the cross-functional Dispatch team
• Cross-functional collaboration:
  • Work with Product and Engineering to share market feedback
  • Partner with Marketing and Customer Success to deliver a seamless buyer experience
• Territory & account strategy: develop tailored plans to meet corporate goals across new and existing accounts.

What You’ll Do Day to Day (Expectations)

• Remain hands-on in the field alongside your team (not only leadership/oversight) during a new product introduction.
• Work closely with:
  • A dedicated BDR for pipeline generation
  • A dedicated Solutions Architect for technical validation
