Role Overview

Director, Quality Engineering (Engineering Director)

You will be the end-to-end owner of product quality across all Quo product lines, with the authority to enforce standards, block releases that don’t meet them, and drive fixes to achieve required quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own quality end-to-end across the SDLC, including defining and executing a cross-product test strategy (manual + automated) with daily/weekly validation cycles.
• Be the final release gatekeeper, with explicit authority to halt releases that don’t meet quality standards until defects are remediated.
• Build and lead the QA team, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and growing QA Engineers and Quality Ambassadors.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with product and engineering managers to embed testing discipline into feature release pipelines.
• Build and scale test infrastructure, including automation frameworks, testing platforms, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Champion AI-enabled testing by selecting and deploying automation tools that extend QA reach without losing precision.
• Educate and advocate for testing best practices and lead learning efforts to ensure test-driven development is adopted across engineering.
• Measure and report quality via metrics, dashboards, and quality reviews with engineering and product leadership.
• Close the customer feedback loop by using production monitoring and support feedback to improve QA strategy and iteration.
• Explore edge cases with creative, regression-preventing testing approaches.

• Proven track record leading quality programs in fast-moving SaaS environments.
• Thrives in a culture of ownership, initiative, and high standards.
• Will actively contribute as part of the Quality team across all stages of the SDLC (not purely supervisory).
