Role Overview

Director of Software Engineering (Remote, United States)

Lead multiple global software engineering teams, shape technical strategy, and drive delivery of modern cloud-based SaaS solutions for FoodChain ID.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop multiple software engineering teams across global locations; build a collaborative, high-performing culture
Drive technical execution for the SaaS product portfolio and align engineering priorities with business objectives
Partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, and business leaders to deliver customer-focused solutions
Champion engineering best practices across Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native technologies
Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering leaders; support career growth across the organization
Establish KPIs and OKRs to measure team performance, delivery quality, and operational excellence
Manage engineering budgets, resource planning, and organizational growth

Requirements

10+ years of software engineering experience
5+ years leading engineering teams
Experience leading distributed, multicultural engineering organizations
Strong background building and delivering cloud-based SaaS applications (experience with AWS and/or Azure)
Expertise in Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, microservices, and modern software architecture
Proven ability to coach and inspire high-performing engineering teams
Excellent communication skills; ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders

Nice to Have

Experience with AI/ML technologies or regulated industries
