Director of Product

Role Overview

The Director of Product will lead and develop Recidiviz’s product management organization at the center of the company’s ability to scale. Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, you will set strategic direction, build the people systems that help product managers grow, and partner across functions to drive mission-critical product work.

Location & Work Model

• Remote option, or based in New York City or Oakland, CA
• Full-time
• Some travel to state partners, internal gatherings, and offsites expected

Compensation

• $201,250 (annual)

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and build a high-performing Product Management (PM) team
• Mentor experienced PMs and emerging leaders (including senior ICs and those moving toward management)
• Own the full hiring engine: sourcing, pipeline development, interview design, and offer process
• Create systems for clarity and stability (career ladders, performance frameworks, onboarding)
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Data Science, and Policy; coach PMs to do the same
• Collaborate with executive leadership and state government stakeholders; keep the team close to frontline staff and impacted people
• Define strategic context: set direction for the PM team so each PM understands priorities, how work fits the bigger picture, and why it matters

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product leadership (implied by posting)
